As part of the consolidation of international relations, Morocco and Israel are about to conclude their very first collaboration in the fields of science and technology.
According to the Israeli press, this qualified agreement “ of history will be signed by Israeli Minister of Science, Technology and Space Orit Farkash Hacohen, and her Moroccan counterpart, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui.
Israeli Minister of Science, Technology and Space Orit Farkash will travel to Rabat on Wednesday, May 25, to conclude this agreement with her Moroccan counterpart, according to the same source.
According to the Israeli press, Moroccan-Israeli cooperation will include several areas including artificial intelligence, agricultural technologies, water management and water desalination, desertification, food processing technologies, biotechnology, renewable energy, medical technology and pharmaceutical industry, smart cities, automotive industry, data technology, space, humanities, society and environment.
After the signing of the agreement, a joint team of Israeli-Moroccan experts will be created to implement the technology agreement, signed by the two countries. The collaboration will include the collective funding of projects in the field of research and development, seminars and scientific gatherings, among others.
Thus, it would be the second agreement signed by Israel in the field of technology after the signatory of the Abraham Accords. Earlier this year, the Israeli minister signed a space cooperation agreement with the United Arab Emirates in Dubai.
” Our peace with Morocco is bearing fruit. Governments sign deals, but people make peace. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel to Morocco and sign an important cooperation agreement between the countries“, Minister Farkash-Hacohen told the press.
” Together we will work to promote advancements in space, renewable energy, water technology, transportation, science, environment and health“, she clarified.
