The Moroccan U17 selection, already qualified for the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations in the category (CAN U17), lost to its Zambian counterpart (1-2) on Saturday in Annaba.
Zakaria Ouazzen opened the scoring for Morocco (18′), before Malaya equalized for Zambia (73′) and Mwanza gave them the advantage from the penalty spot (87′).
Morocco, which secured qualification for the quarter-finals following its victory in the second day against Nigeria (1-0), is in first place in its group with 6 points, followed by Nigeria (6 pts), South Africa (3 pts) and Zambia (3 pts).
In the other Group B game, Nigeria defeated South Africa 3-2.
In the quarter, the foals of Said Chiba will cross swords with Algeria. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10 at 8 p.m. (Moroccan time).
