Morocco’s “Nova Explorers” team, competing in the “Future Innovator Junior” category at the World Robot Olympics (WRO) in Panama, secured a remarkable third-place finish with their innovative “Skylinker” project, which utilizes drones to provide network access in disaster-stricken areas.
The team, composed of young talents Nour Al-Houda (14), Nouha (11), and Mariam (14), gave Morocco and Africa their only prize in the competition.
The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is an international robotics competition aimed at young individuals. Established in 2004 in Singapore, WRO utilizes LEGO Mindstorms, created by LEGO Education, for its challenges. The competition has seen rapid growth, now drawing over 28,000 teams from upwards of 85 countries.
