The Moroccan National Team Fans Association has announced cancelling the planned “Tifo” display scheduled for the beginning of the friendly match between the national team and its Burkinabé counterpart on Tuesday evening in France.

In an official statement released on their social media account on “X” (formerly Twitter), the association attributed this decision to “the tragic events that our country witnessed last Friday night, which left thousands of our brothers and sisters dead and injured.”

The association further explained that, in coordination with the organizing committee for the match between the Moroccan national team and the Burkinabé team, it has been decided to cancel the entrance display and any other crowd activations in the stands.

Additionally, the association announced that, given the current circumstances in the country, the playing of the national anthems for both teams will also be omitted.

The statement concluded with a solemn message: “We belong to God, and to Him we shall return. May God have mercy on our deceased and grant a swift recovery to all those who are injured.”
