With more than 500.000 entries overseas this week, the Moroccan film “The Blue Caftan,” directed by Maryam Touzani, produced by Nabil Ayouch, and starring Lubna Azabal, Saleh Bakri, and Ayoub Missioui, is enjoying a successful run at the box office.
After winning the FIPRESCI International Critics Prize at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, “The Blue Caftan” toured the world, achieving both critical and public success.
The film won no fewer than 45 accolades at the world’s largest film festivals, including the Jury Prize at the 2022 Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM). It was chosen as one of the top 15 foreign films at the Oscars last year, a first for Morocco.
