Moroccan international, Zakaria Aboukhlal, 22, has just signed with French club Toulouse after playing for AZ Alkmaar for three years.
“Toulouse Football Club is pleased to announce the arrival in its ranks of young Moroccan international Zakaria Aboukhlal,” wrote the TFC in a press release on Friday evening.
The club “welcomes to welcome this promising striker and welcomes Zakaria to the group of Philippe Montanier”, added the French club.
Zakaria Aboukhlal, whose transfer cost 2 million euros, will take the number 6 jersey, he said he was “very happy to sign in Toulouse, TéFéCé is a historic club in France”.
“It’s a new step in my career, I hope to take a new step and become even more competitive. I want to make the fans and the Club happy,” added the Atlas Lion who has already played 11 caps and two goals with the Atlas Lions.
This right winger had contributed to the club’s third place in the Eredivisie two years ago as well as the round of 16 of the Europa League conference disputed this season.
Zakaria was trained under the colors of the prestigious PSV Eindhoven with whom he made his professional debut at the age of 18. The following summer, he joined AZ Alkmaar of the Dutch league, to continue his progress.
Training striker, the versatile left-hander stood out last season by scoring 8 goals and delivering a decisive pass in 43 games played. The last time was during the qualifying playoffs for the Europa League Conference.
