Moroccan Idder Moutia joins prestigious University of Sheffield

Moroccan computer programming prodigy Idder Moutia, 17, has begun his computer science degree at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, according to Samir Benmakhlouf, Chief Executive of the London Academy, where Moutia completed his preparatory and secondary education.

At the age of 12, Moutia impressed Google engineers at the DevFest event with his mastery of several programming languages and English communication skills. He has since proved his mastery of Python, HTML, JavaScript, C, C++, SQL, and Scratch.

The University of Sheffield is a world-renowned educational institution that is recognized for its excellence in research and teaching. Founded in 1828, it is one of the leading universities in the United Kingdom, ranked 42nd in the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, and has a number of Nobel laureates among its alumni and faculty members.
