Moroccan fashion is in the spotlight this year at the Cannes Film Festival, which is hosting an “exceptional” closing event with a fashion show, in which three Moroccan designers will take part.
The event will take place at the Hotel Martinez on May 27 where several international designers will present their latest creations, indicates the “Morocco Fashion Week” (MFW), an association bringing together Moroccan fashion designers and which works for their development in the Kingdom. and internationally by organizing fashion weeks and establishing partnerships with other fashion organisations.
A statement from the association specifies in this regard that as part of this 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Moroccan designers Nadia Ksiyer, Loubna Benkirane and Mouna Benmakhlouf have been selected to represent Moroccan fashion and position their brands among the most prestigious. of the festival, where the stars are dressed by the best stylists in the world.
This parade represents one more step for the MFW which aims to install Moroccan fashion on the podiums of the biggest film festivals (Cannes, Venice, Deauville, Marrakech…), notes the same source.
According to Hind Joudar, representative of the MFW, the aim is “to develop more and more Moroccan brands and position them on this cinema market to dress international actresses”.
Through this initiative, she added, “We are working to promote Moroccan fashion and ancestral know-how and open up new perspectives for national designers”.
The association also notes that these MFW fashion shows mark the launch of a long series of shows aimed at promoting Moroccan designers internationally under the Morocco label.
