Mohamed Bachiri takes control of Renault Maroc

Mohamed Bachiri has been appointed new director of Renault Maroc. He becomes the first Moroccan to hold the position of Country Director for the diamond brand.

The current director of the Tangier plant and Coordinator of the Morocco industrial pole will retain this post despite his appointment as director of Renault Maroc, according to a statement from the group. He thus becomes the first Moroccan to become Country Director in the Renault Group since the start of the manufacturer’s international opening.

The 56-year-old Moroccan is expected to take up his new role, replacing Marc Nassif, from December 2021. The new head of Renault Maroc will be responsible for coordinating and synergizing Groupe Renault activities in Morocco.

Denis Le Vot, Managing Director of Dacia & Lada, member of the Board of Management, testified to his “confidence in Mohamed Bachiri to continue the work started and capitalize on the power of the entire automotive ecosystem of the Kingdom, consolidating the place of Morocco within the group ”, indicates the same source.

For his part, Marc Nassif was congratulated for his work and “his unfailing commitment”. Thanks to him, Renault Group Maroc “took on a new dimension in the Kingdom with the Ecosystem agreements in 2016 and 2021. These advances have consolidated the group’s role as a driving force in the Moroccan automotive industry”, declared Denis Le Vot. .

Mohamed Bachiri joined Renault in 2006 as Human Resources Director of SOMACA and Renault Commerce Maroc. He then took care of the Manufacturing division in Spain, still on behalf of the diamond brand.

From 2015 to 2020, he returned to Morocco to take on the function of Managing Director of SOMACA, before becoming Managing Director of the Renault plant in Tangier and coordinator of the industrial pole for Morocco.
