The Steering Committee of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Promotion of Social Works of Education-Training held, on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Rabat, a session devoted to the presentation of the Foundation’s activity report for the year 2022 and to the approval of the projects and the provisional budget for the year 2023.

In the field of health, the Foundation is making great strides to create structures and care equipment dedicated to the teaching family. The mobile medical units have been acquired and are being equipped. As for hospital center projects, technical and architectural studies have been undertaken for the construction of two hospitals, one in Agadir and the other in Oujda.

Pending the materialization of these major projects, the members of the Foundation and their families benefit from a social welfare system complementary to that of the AMO. In 2022, more than 155,000 families had access to complementary health insurance, and to medical assistance and transport. The Foundation has disbursed more than 200 million dirhams to provide these two services during the past year.

On the housing side, the Foundation has allocated 1.7 billion dirhams for the subsidy of real estate financing acquired by its members since the launch of the IMTILAK program in September 2019 until the end of 2022; which has enabled more than 29,000 people to acquire their main home.

During this year, the Foundation set up a new financing aid mechanism “Yassir”; consisting of the total or partial subsidy of social loans. This new service recorded more than 27,000 beneficiaries, 92.8% of whom opted for the loan of 20,000 DH at an interest rate of 0%.

In terms of support for the financing of studies, the Foundation granted the children of members 2,110 ISTIHQAQ scholarships for an annual cost of 66 million dirhams. and more than 26,000 preschool subsidies at a cost of more than 52 million dirhams for 2022.

And to strengthen the access of its members and their families to information technologies, the Nafida 2 program has enabled nearly 30,000 people to acquire a computer between June 2021 and December 2022. As for the reduction on Internet subscriptions, more than 57,000 people have benefited from it for an estimated value of more than 6 million dirhams per month.

The Foundation has also increased the subsidy applied to public fares for rail and road transport. The reduction on travel by train (Al Boraq, TGL, TNR) has increased from 30 at 40% ; while that applied to travel via Supratours coaches has gone from 25 at 40%.

In 2023, the Foundation will continue to implement its 2018-2028 strategic action plan by accelerating in particular:

  • construction of health centers;
  • the commissioning of mobile medical units;
  • the completion and construction of new cultural centers;
  • the construction and development of new tourist complexes …

At the end of the session, the members of the Committee expressed their satisfaction with the achievements presented and unanimously approved the draft budget for the year 2023.
