Marrakech film festival won’t be canceled nor postponed

Unarguably one of the most awaited events of the year, the Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) was suspected of getting canceled, however, a MoroccoLatestNews source confirmed that it would be taking place on the exact planned dates (from November 24 to December 2).

Several events to be held in Morocco have been canceled, such as the national film festival of Tangier and Sale’s international women’s film festival.

However, FIFM, which cinema professionals all over the world look up to, will meet its crowd with a rich program and various additions, confirmed a source to MoroccoLatestNews.

The festival will welcome one of cinema’s greatest film directors Martin Scorsese, who’ll be mentoring young talents in the Atlas Workshops section.

FIFM has yet to unveil the jury, selected competition films, special screenings, and tributes.

The event creates a unique area of exchange between international stars, industry pioneers, and Moroccan talents from professionals to cinema students, in the red city as they spend ten whole days watching various movies, new productions, archive pulls, short features, and documentaries.
