Maroc Telecom: Nearly 76 million customers at the end of March 2022

the Maroc Telecom Group now has nearly 76 million customers at the end of March 2022, up 3.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In a press release on its consolidated results for the 1st quarter of 2022, the Group explains that this increase is mainly driven by the growth of Mobile parks in Morocco and in the subsidiaries.

In Morocco, the Mobile base had 19.9 million customers at the end of March 2022, up 2.8% over one year. Fixed-line customers lost 2.6% to nearly 2.0 million lines over the same period.

The broadband base has 1.7 million subscribers, driven by the expansion of the FTTH base (+47%) which partly offsets the loss of ADSL customers.

Internationally, the Mobile base reached 51,786,000 customers, spread over Côte d’Ivoire (10,727,000), Burkina Faso (10,673,000), Mali (9,263,000), Chad (5,318,000), Benin (5,261,000), Niger (3,202,000), Mauritania (3,031,000), Togo (2,601,000), Gabon (1,533,000) and Central Africa (213,000).

The fixed base has 355,000 subscribers, spread over Mali (188,000), Burkina Faso (76,000), Mauritania (57,000) and Gabon (34,000), while the fixed broadband base stood at 147,000 clients.
