Preparations for the 11th National Congress of Ittihadis are well underway. The work team overseeing the organization of this crucial USFP event, completed the preparation of 12 designated regional platforms for regional delegates to follow the proceedings of the conference face-to-face, in accordance with the preventive measures put in place to the fight against Covid-19.
In an interview with MoroccoLatestNews, Hanane Rihab, member of the political bureau of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), recalled that the party’s national congress will be held on Friday February 4, with an official launch scheduled for the morning followed by internal workshops, noting ” the internal determination to reinforce the results obtained in the last elections of 2021“.

Some supported this initiative, others rejected it.
Questioned byMoroccoLatestNews UK on this subject, Mehdi Mezouari, member of the political bureau of the USFP, also joined his colleague on this point, affirming “Driss Lachgar is not seeking a third term.and that to guarantee a certain stability, the quasi-majority of the tenors of the rose party wanted him to stand for“a third term of transition”.
To return Hanane Rihab, the Ittihadia continued during the interview that Driss Lachgar, “succeeded in making the USFP the fourth force on the political scene in terms of electoral results, which is not at all an easy task. Rather, it is the result of a well-defined work strategy,” underlined the Usfpiste before adding that “several party members across the regions of the Kingdom have called on Lachgar to run (for a 3rd term) from the period from 2022 to 2026 ».
Regarding the other candidacies presented for the post of the first secretary of the rose party, Hanane Rihab specified that “all candidacies are welcome within the framework of internal democracy, because the divergence of points of view based on morality is essential within the framework of the discussions on open competition for all. After all, Congress remains master of itself in the end.”she decided.
Regarding the issues of the 11th national congress of the USFP, Hanane Rihab concluded that “the organizational bet is strongly present in order to restructure the provincial and regional secretariats (…) which brings us directly to the electoral bet. We plan to occupy the first or second place in the legislative elections of 2026, alongside the political bet represented in the confrontation of political tyranny with the formation of the current government”.
