The General Delegation for Penitentiary Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), has informed that an official of the local prison of Loudaya in Marrakech has been brought before the disciplinary council to take the necessary measures against him in accordance with the law. , following complaints of ill-treatment by a prisoner.
In a press release published on Friday, the DGAPR explains that following information published in the press and after having received complaints about a case of mistreatment of a resident by an official at the local prison of Loudaya in Marrakech, a commission central was dispatched to the prison in question to investigate the matter.
After hearing all the parties concerned and using surveillance camera recordings, and based on the results of the investigation, it was decided to refer this official to the disciplinary board to take the necessary measures against him in accordance with to the law.
The DGAPR reaffirms, moreover, its concern to guarantee respect for the rights of residents of penitentiary establishments as provided for by the law governing these establishments, as well as their protection against any treatment undermining their dignity, by acting firmly to repress any behavior of this kind.
