LNFP: Abdeslam Belkchour succeeds Said Naciri

The vice-president of the National Professional Football League (LNFP), Abdeslam Belkchour was unanimously elected Monday as president, replacing Said Naciri, who resigned.

This election took place during the ordinary general assembly of the league, for the 2020-2021 season, marked by the presence of representatives of 43 clubs (out of 53) and held at the Mohammed VI football complex in Maâmora (suburb dirty).

Belkchour is to form his new office within the next two months.

“It’s a heavy responsibility,” he told the press, noting that “national football is now experiencing very positive changes and influence on the continental and international levels. We need to build on this momentum and move forward,” he said.

As a reminder, Said Naciri, also president of Wydad Casablanca and head of the LNFP since 2015, had earlier announced his resignation due to “professional occupations”.
