The legislative elections in France are scheduled for Sunday June 12 and 19, 2022. After several twists and turns around the candidate for the 9th constituency of French people living abroad (Maghreb and West Africa), it is finally Elisabeth Moreno, Minister delegate in charge of equality between women and men, who was invested. A parachuting, estimates Ahmed Eddarraz, who affirms to maintain his candidacy.
“After a night of reflection and numerous consultations, I have decided to maintain my candidacy for the legislative elections in the 9th constituency of French people living abroad,” he wrote in a press release.
While recalling the investiture of Elisabeth Moreno (La République en Marche -LREM- of Macron) and the judicial conviction of the outgoing candidate (also LREM), M’jid El Guerrab to 1 year in prison and 2 years of ineligibility for “willful violence” on the socialist leader Boris Faure in 2017, this former close collaborator of the French presidential couple, claims not to want to “divide”.
“Far be it from me to add division to division. But the parachuting of Elisabeth Moreno should not hide the fact that I am the candidate of the rally between progressives and humanists,
beyond partisan chapels. The identity of my deputy, Daniel Houres, figure of the LR for 20 years in Morocco, is proof of this, ”he assures.
Ahmed Eddarraz considers himself to be the ideal candidate: “I was able to listen to our fellow citizens of the Maghreb and West Africa and crystallize their expectations in the fields of education, health, economy and live together “.
And also recalls his journey: “I am also the natural candidate. Beyond my personal story, inscribed from a very young age between the two shores of the Mediterranean, I have also been a founding member of LREM, since 2016. I have forged a relationship of trust and esteem with Emmanuel Macron. And this privileged link with the President of the Republic, as well as many political decision-makers at the head of the countries of the constituency, will be a strength and an opportunity when it comes to finding solutions to the problems of our fellow citizens”.
To conclude: “There are no 1st division French people and 2nd division French people. The former would live in France while the latter would be settled abroad. There are simply full-fledged French people”.
Note that Ahmed Eddarraz had already been talked about when he had strongly denounced the nomination (which ultimately did not happen) of the Franco-Moroccan Zineb El Rhazoui (LREM) for this same 9th circo. “The French established in this constituency deserve better than to be considered, by the ambitious, as a stepping stone”, he had not hesitated to launch.
