Le Masi is up 6.27% in Q3-2021

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the third quarter of 2021 up sharply, its main index, the Masi, taking 6.27% to 13,186.83 points.

At the end of this period, the Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies listed on the Casablanca market, gained 6.41% to 1,081.33 points and the Madex, a compact index. composed of stocks quoted on a continuous basis, rose 6.27% to 10,723.19 points.

The YTD (Year To Date) performance of these three barometers is thus placed at 16.83%, 16.93% and 16.68%.

As for the international indices, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 gained 7.42% to 12,540.72 points, bringing its gains since the start of the year to 22.64%, and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid has appreciated by 6.27% at 11,253.19 points (+ 15.49% in YTD).

The Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) benchmark “Casablanca ESG 10” followed the same positive trajectory, thus accumulating 990.52 points, up 6.57%.

At the end of the July-September quarter, 16 sectors of the 24 represented on the stock exchange showed good looks. “Forestry and Paper” (+ 66.50%) posted the largest increase, followed by “Pharmaceutical industry” (+ 31.42%), “Electronic and electrical equipment” (31.21%), ” Transport services ”(+ 13.2%) and“ Oil and Gas ”(+ 12%).

On the downside, the “Utilities” sector fell by 16.71%, that of “Leisure and Hotels” fell by 11.44% and “Transport” by 2.54%.

At the end of September 2021, the market capitalization amounted to nearly 677.26 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).

The overall volume for the quarter amounted to more than MAD 16.05 billion, including MAD 7.83 billion realized on the central equity market and MAD 6.31 billion on the block market (shares).

With a transaction volume of more than 939.28 million dirhams (MDH), Attijariwafa Bank was the most active instrument in Q3-2021 grabbing 11.99% of exchanges, followed by Itissalat Al-Maghrib with 793 , 41 MDH (10.13%) and Ciments du Maroc which drained 606.71 MDH (7.15%).

In the strongest increases of the period, Fenie Brossette climbed 73.72%, Med Paper advanced 66.5% and Disway gained 34.91%.

Conversely, SMI dropped 23.42%, Lydec fell 16.71% and Dari Couspate lost 12.34%.
