The head of Israeli diplomacy, Yair Lapid, revealed during his visit to Morocco that he had concerns about a rapprochement between Algeria and Iran. This declaration confirms what Moroccans already knew, but explains why Algeria persists in refusing the outstretched hand of the Kingdom….
While Algeria has made the “external threat” its blessing to excuse the dysfunctions of the State and the military institution, or to pass controversial laws and provisions, accusing, without naming it, Morocco. on several occasions, it would seem that it is for Morocco and the entire North African region to be wary of the Algerian military command.
However, Morocco has never shown signs of hostilities towards Algeria as the Algerian soldiers regularly do through their magazine Djeich, the media in the pay of the government, or even members of the government and at their head the President Abdelmadjid Tebboune who has shown his hatred and obsession for Morocco on several occasions, even during an interview given to foreign media.
On the contrary, in Morocco, King Mohammed VI has increased his calls for the Algerian leaders to return to reason. Since 2008, the sovereign has reminded Algerians that it is essential for the development of the region, its stability and the well-being of neighboring peoples, to reopen the borders and to discuss amicably, without preconditions, around a table to settle disputes between the two countries.
None of the appeals of the King of Morocco received positive feedback from Algerian leaders. And for good reason, the latter still cling to defending their separatist and terrorist project in the southern provinces of Morocco through the Polisario militias.
Lapid confirms the rapprochement between Algeria and Iran
Friday, Yaïr Lapid, who was giving a press conference in Casablanca at the end of his two-day visit to Morocco, announced that he had expressed to his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, “some concern about the role of the Algerian state. in the region, which has drawn closer to Iran and is currently campaigning against Israel’s admission to the African Union as an observer, ”he told reporters.
This statement, which comes from an Israeli official, whose country is known to be very advanced in terms of intelligence, explains many events. Iran, a recognized destabilizing actor in the Middle East region is accused by Western countries and the countries concerned of having financed terrorist organizations to destabilize countries like Lebanon, Syria and more recently Yemen where the drones sent by Houthi rebels attacking oil facilities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were found to be Iranian-made.
Morocco severed diplomatic relations with Iran in 2018 after discovering that Iran supported the Polisario separatist movement, through Hezbollah its armed wing. The head of Moroccan diplomacy Nasser Bourita had visited Iran in person to inform his counterpart Javad Zarif of this decision.
Rabat then indicated that it had found evidence of “proven connivance” and of Hezbollah’s military support for the Polisario. Nasser Bourita had declared that this is a “reaction to a confirmed involvement of Iran through Hezbollah, which everyone knows the link with Iran, in an alliance with the Polisario against national security and the higher interests of the Kingdom ”and made it clear that this was a bilateral problem.
Israel, whose enemy number 1 is Iran – which threatens its stability and that of the region – has therefore observed the actions of this country to find a new alliance of evil between the Islamic Republic and Algeria. This connivance therefore seems to have only one goal, that of destabilizing Morocco through the Polisario. This very serious news undoubtedly explains Algeria’s stubbornness in refusing Morocco’s outstretched hand.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune even went to refuse the humanitarian aid offered by Morocco, which had made two Canadairs available to Algeria to put out the fires in Kabylieet, and preferred to let its population burn for 48 hours, to wait for a response from France, while the Moroccan Canadairs had been ready since Wednesday. The rapprochement between Algeria and Iran is for something …
