Lamacom Group launches its new business unit: Lamatech packaging solutions

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour and the President of the LAMACOM group, Khalid Sekkat, chaired, on Friday February 3, 2023, in Casablanca, the inauguration ceremony of the extension of the group’s Lamacom factory. “LAMATECH PACKAGING SOLUTIONS”.

This Business Unit (BU), newly created within the framework of the Bank of Projects for an investment amount of 75.6 MDH will allow the creation of 105 jobs. It will manufacture rigid and injected plastic packaging solutions with IML customization, available in the form of pots, buckets and trays.

LAMATECH PACKAGING SOLUTIONS is deployed over an area of ​​more than 9000 m2, within the group’s 2nd industrial site, in Ain Sebaa. Its capacity allows it to accommodate up to 50 injection machines equipped with the latest technologies.

The Minister declared on this occasion: “This project attests to the capacity of our manufacturers to take up the challenge of local production and innovation. It will play a vital and strategic role for the industrial sovereignty of our country since it will contribute to the substitution of a significant proportion of imported plastic packaging items”. He added that the plastics sector intervenes upstream of several particularly dynamic national industries. Strengthening local production in this sector and positioning it in growth niches will strengthen the competitiveness and performance of the entire national industry”.

“LAMACOM GROUP has decided to diversify and capitalize on its industrial know-how of more than 40 years, by creating the LAMATECH Business Unit, dedicated to plastic packaging solutions injected with IML to meet the packaging needs of different sectors. such as the food, agricultural, chemical and paint sectors,” said Khalid Sekkat, Chairman of the Group.

The project thus intends to contribute strongly to the national effort to substitute imports with local production, a flagship project of the national industrial strategy which aims to develop among Moroccan industrialists the spirit of economic challenge, promote and support national competitiveness, strengthen Moroccan capital and decarbonize industry to strengthen exports. The strategy has also set itself the mission of supporting the integration of industrial sectors and strengthening Morocco’s position on the world stage of advanced and sustainable industries.
