Lalla Zineb chairs the OGM of the Moroccan League for Child Protection

As part of the annual meetings to assess the activities of the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children, Princess Lalla Zineb chaired, on Friday in Rabat, the meeting of the Ordinary General Assembly of the League, devoted in particular to the examination of the moral and financial report for the year 2021 and the report of the auditor for the same financial year.

A statement from the League indicates that after highlighting the actions and projects carried out in the field of child protection and the promotion of the fundamental rights of children in precarious situations, particularly those deprived of their family environment, the Princess called on all actors and stakeholders in the social field to make the necessary efforts to increase the capacity of the reception and care structures for these children, established in the different regions of the Kingdom, and to give impetus to early childhood education.

She also thanked all the partners and donors for their support and support for the various projects and activities of the League, as well as all the social actors and volunteers working for the promotion of childhood.

After a general discussion, centered on the various achievements and the strategic program of the League for the years to come, adds the same source, the members of the General Assembly unanimously approved the moral and financial report as well as the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021, and the related resolutions.

On this occasion, the members of the General Assembly strongly welcomed the efforts made continuously by His Highness in the various fields relating to the improvement of the conditions of care for children in difficult circumstances, in particular those with disabilities, while reiterating their full commitment to contribute to the achievement of the expected objectives, in accordance with the high guidelines of King Mohammed VI, aimed at the consecration of the fundamental rights of the child.

At the end of this Assembly, several recommendations were approved, in particular the implementation of the League’s 2022-2025 strategic program in partnership and cooperation with the various partners, the establishment of a unified information system, adapted to the needs and structures of the League at central and regional level, and the extension of the activities of the mother and child unit to other child protection centers, under the League (provisional care for children and mothers in distress).

The other recommendations approved by the Assembly relate to participation in reflection workshops, aimed at revising the Family Code and the Kafala law for children separated from their family environment, the approval of agreements signed with the various departments ministerial and social actors and the approval of good governance mechanisms, aimed at the implementation of financial and accounting management procedures at the level of the offices and institutions of the League, in accordance with the regulations in force.
