Great consecration for the Marrakech brand. La Mamounia hotel has been recognized as the best hotel in the world and in Africa by the prestigious international magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
In this edition, more than 800,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers took part in the vote, placing La Mamounia in first place with a score of 99.99 / 100.
“We are very happy and honored to receive the Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s First Prize for the third time”, said Pierre Jochem, General Manager of La Mamounia. ” We are very grateful to the readers who voted for La Mamounia for their commitment and continued support ”, concludes Jochem.
A very gratifying recognition that becomes quite a consecration, when it is renewed twice in just three years, after having already been designated as ” Number 1 hotel in the world » in 2018 by the American publication.
“Few hotels are as synonymous with their destination as La Mamounia. In fact, if you don’t spend the night in one of the tiled bedrooms in this ancient palace, it’s almost like you’ve never been in Marrakech. It is because this opulent pocket of palm trees, landscaped gardens and fountains, where sultry halls and bars are draped in dark silks and velvets, has come to embody all of these reasons why we travel to Marrakech ”, can we read in the columns of the magazine.
On the verge of celebrating its 100th anniversary, 2021 is a magical year for La Mamounia. In August, Pierre Jochem received the award for the best hotel manager in the world by the North American magazine Hotels, and the recent renovation of the brand was awarded two prestigious prizes at the Ahead Design Awards.
Built in 1923 and revamped in 2009 by the French designer, Jacques Garcia, the Mamounia today confirms its position as leader in the Moroccan luxury hotel industry. Its traditional Moroccan style, its intricate arabesque patterns, inspired by Berber and Arab-Andalusian architecture, as well as its royal gardens attract tourists from all over the world.
