“La Conductrice” by Mehdi Ayouch in competition at the 24th Ismaïlia Festival

The film “Chiffora” (La Conductrice) by its director, Mehdi Ayouch, is part of the program for the 24th edition of the Ismaïlia Documentary and Short Film Festival, scheduled for March 14 to 20, unveiled by the festival management. .

The films in competition, a hundred representing around thirty countries, will compete in four categories, including that of feature documentaries, which offers 13 films and 11 short documentaries.

The short and feature films and documentaries jury includes Magid Movatsigye (Switzerland), Cecile Tulipolonsky (Germany), Koenig Hawally (Cuba) and Miss Darwazeh (Jordan).

The result of a Moroccan-Norwegian co-production, the film tells the story of a Moroccan bus driver who suffers from the patriarchal vision of society, given that the job she exercises is reserved for men.

Germany will be the guest of honor at the 24th edition of the Festival, where seven films will be screened.

The festival will pay tribute to the artistic director, Mahmoud Abdel Samie, and to the film historian, Mahmoud Ali and to the Irish director Mark Cousins.
