Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana welcomes Israeli recognition of Sahara

The speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, reacted to Israel’s decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara by posing all smiles in front of a map of Morocco where it is expressly written “Moroccan Sahara”.

The head of the Israeli Parliament of Moroccan origin, Amir Ohana posted on all his social networks an image of him posing in front of a map of the world pointing to the part where it says “Moroccan Sahara” surrounded by a red circle, and with a copy of a Moroccan newspaper “Al Ahdath Al Maghribi” which showed it on the front page.

He posted this photo with a broad smile embellished with two flags, those of Israel and Morocco on all his social networks, welcoming Tel Aviv’s recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.

His photo has been widely appreciated on social media, and his popularity has grown in Morocco since he was the first Israeli official to support Morocco’s territorial integrity and claiming that Israel should officially recognize it.

It should be noted that the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset went to Morocco last June on an official visit at the invitation of Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the Moroccan Parliament.

He said at the time that there was a serious discussion within the Israeli parliament government concerning the recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
