King Mohammed VI declares the Amazigh New Year a paid public holiday

A press release from the royal cabinet announced on Wednesday evening that King Mohammed VI has kindly declared the Amazigh New Year as a public holiday in Morocco.

The King has ordered that this holiday be counted as a paid day as the 1st Muharram of the Islamic year or New Year’s Day.
