King Congratulates Sovereign of Spain on Swearing-in to Constitution by His Daughter Princess Leonor as Heir to the Crown

King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to King Felipe VI of Spain, on the occasion of the swearing in to the Constitution before the two Houses of Parliament by his daughter, the Princess of Asturias, Doña Leonor de Borbón y Ortiz, as Heir to the Crown of the Kingdom of Spain.

“It gives me great pleasure to extend to your Majesty and to all the members of your Royal Family My warmest congratulations and best wishes, following the swearing-in to the Constitution before the two Houses of Parliament by your daughter, HRH Princess Leonor, as Heir to the Crown of Spain, on the occasion of her 18th birthday,” HM the King stressed in the message.

On this happy historic occasion, the Sovereign expressed to King Felipe VI of Spain and Princess Leonor His best wishes for good health, happiness and well-being on the occasion of her birthday and her swearing-in to the Constitution, which entitles her to exercise her high functions as Heir to the Crown of the Kingdom of Spain, a neighboring and friendly country.

The King also reiterated to the Sovereign of Spain his deep pride in the ties of solid friendship and mutual esteem “that unite us personally and our two Royal Families”, as well as in the distinguished, age-old relations between the two neighboring Kingdoms, which the two Sovereigns are striving to consolidate, enrich and raise to the level of the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

While sharing the feelings of joy and happiness following this happy historic event, the Sovereign expressed His wishes for the good health, happiness and tranquility of HM King Felipe VI and all the members of the illustrious Royal Family.
