Moroccan athletes Abdelati El Guesse and Nabil Oussama were eliminated on Sunday in the semi-finals of the 800m (men) of the Tokyo Olympics.
El Guesse occupied the 8th and last position of the first semi-final (1: 46.85), won by the Polish Patryk Dobek (1: 44.60) ahead of the Kenyan Emmanuel Kipkurui Korir (1: 44.74), who both secured their qualification for the final.
For his part, Nabil Oussama took 4th place in the 3rd semi-final with a time of 1: 46.42. The first two places in this series went to Kenyan Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich (1: 44.04) and Bosnian Amel Tuka (1: 44.53).
On Saturday, Moroccan Mustapha Smaili was eliminated in the first round of this competition, placing 4th in the 6th qualifying series with a time of 1: 46.05. The final of this event will take place on August 4.
