Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) formalized on Wednesday the signing of Italian-Senegalese midfielder Cher Ndour from Benfica.
“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Cher Ndour. The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the club. He will wear number 27,” the Parisian club wrote in a statement.
” I’m very emotive. It’s a mix of emotions but above all happiness because Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best clubs in the world with a lot of champions and for me it’s an honor to be part of this new family.” said Cher Ndour, quoted in the press release.
Born in Brescia, Italy, Cher Ndour first joined the training centers of Brescia (2009) then Atalanta Bergamo (2013) before flying to Portugal in 2020 to sign his first professional contract with SL Benfica.
He is the sixth player recruited this summer by PSG after notably the French defender Lucas Hernandez, the Spanish striker Marco Asensio or the Slovak central defender Milan Škriniar.
