The coach of the U23 national team, Issame Charaï, was elected by the African Football Confederation (CAF), “Best Coach” of the group stage of the African Cup of Nations in the category.
The national technician was chosen thanks to the results achieved by his team, which finished the group stage with the maximum score (9 points), i.e. three victories in as many matches.
Indeed, the lion cubs had beaten Guinea (2-1), Ghana (5-1) and Congo (1-0), thus finishing at the head of group A.

In the semi-finals, the colts of Issame Charaï will have to face, on Tuesday, July 4 at the Moulay Abdellah Complex from 9 p.m., a formidable Malian team, author of an honorable course.
As a reminder, the first three in the ranking of the 2023 edition of the CAN will validate their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The fourth in the ranking will have to face an Asian team in the intercontinental play-off.
