Iran denies involvement in Hamas ‘Aqsa Flood’ operation against Israel

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday that accusing Tehran of involvement in the surprise operation launched by Hamas against Israel “is based on political motives.”

The spokesperson stressed that Tehran does not interfere “in the decisions of other countries, including Palestine.”

Nasser Kanaani said during a press conference, “The resistance of the Palestinian people has the ability, strength, and will necessary to defend itself, defend its nation, and try to regain its lost rights.”

Late on Sunday night, a Wall Street Journal report claimed that Iran had helped Hamas plan the attack “over several weeks,” as official from both parties held meeting in Beirut regarding the matter, quoting official sources.
