Spanish midfielder Sergio Busquets has signed a contract until 2025 with Inter Miami, where he joins Argentinian Leo Messi, the North American Football Championship (MLS) announced on Sunday.
Since announcing his departure from FC Barcelona on May 10, his lifelong club, the 34-year-old has been targeted by Inter.
His complicity and his friendship with Leo Messi were forged through triumphs on the national, European and world stages, Busquets having won, in fifteen seasons in the Blaugrana jersey, nine Spanish league titles, three Champions Leagues (2009 , 2011 and 2015), seven King’s Cups and three Club World Cups.
The international with 134 caps was one of the pillars of Barça’s golden generation, which dominated Europe in the early 2000s, with Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
On Saturday, Inter Miami had formalized the arrival of Leo Messi, who has also signed up until 2025. He should be presented on Sunday at the club and Monday in front of the press.
