The Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has announced that the Kingdom will host this summer the film crew for the fifth adventure of the famous and emblematic archaeologist Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford.
A statement from the CCM specifies in this regard that the producer Steven Spielberg will entrust the realization of this fifth opus of the franchise of Lucasfilm (bought in 2012 by Disney) to James Mangold (known for Logan among others).
Spielberg is still involved as a producer alongside his traditional producers such as Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, it is pointed out.
Alongside Harrison Ford, will play Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), noted the same source, letting know that filming began in London on June 7 and will continue in Fez and Oujda this summer.
Indiana Jones is added to the series of major international productions filmed in Morocco such as James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, Game of Thrones or Homeland, recalled the CCM, noting that “Morocco’s success and its attractiveness as a that large filming space are due, on the one hand, to the multiple sets offered by our country, to its exceptional light, to the experience and qualification of its technical teams, and, on the other hand, to the measures taken since 2017 by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center as well as the advantages granted to foreign producers ”.
The CCM also indicates that the Moroccan producer Zakaria Alaoui and his company Zak Productions will be in charge of filming in Morocco.
