In just 24 hours, 133 new severe cases were admitted to intensive care, bringing the national total of severe cases to 646 cases. With this persistent increase in new severe cases, the occupancy rate of resuscitation beds dedicated to Covid-19 has climbed to 12.3%.
In its epidemiological report for this Monday, January 24, the Ministry of Health reports 25 intubated cases and 219 cases under artificial respiration. In addition, Morocco has recorded in the past 24 hours, 35 new deaths from Covid-19 bringing the national total since the start of the pandemic to 15,167. The fatality rate stood at 1.38% on Monday.
In detail, the deaths are distributed as follows: 14 deaths in the Casablanca-Settat region, (8 in Casablanca, 2 in Nouaceur, 1 in El Jadida, 1 in Berrechid, 1 in Settat), 11 new deaths in the region Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (3 in Rabat, 3 in Salé, 3 in Skhirate-Témara, 1 in Kénitra, 1 in Sidi Slimane), 3 deaths in the Oriental region (2 in Guercif, 1 in Taourirt), 3 deaths in the Marrakech-Safi region, in the city of Marrakech, 2 deaths in the Béni-Mellal Khénifra region (1 in Azilal, 1 in Khouribga), 1 death in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region in the city of Tangier-Assilah, 1 death in the Fez-Meknes region in the city of Boulemane. The other regions of the Kingdom have not recorded any deaths in the past 24 hours.
Still according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health, Morocco has recorded 8,642 recoveries bringing the national total since the start of the pandemic to 1,023,891 remissions. The recovery rate stood at 92.98% on Monday, while the total number of active cases was 62,105 (5.64%).
