A few weeks before the elections, a wave of massive resignations shakes the PJD in the Marrakech Safi region. “The dysfunction is organizational,” hammer out the resigners.
What is happening with the PJD in Marrakech and region? Waves of massive resignations are sweeping over the regional secretariat of the PJD in Marrakech. Communal councilors, presidents of communes of Marrakech, Safi and Essaouira as well as other activists from the union branch of the party (UNTM) are packing up.
In Safi alone, 45 members suddenly resigned. The president of the Safi municipal council, Abdeljalil Labdaoui, is one of the resigners. A resignation of size when we know that it is a founder of the party in the region.
This old rider of the prediction at the rank of the MUR (Unicity and Reform Movement), who lived the integration of the Popular, Constitutional and Democratic Movement of Abdelkrim El Khatib, the ancestor of the PJD, gives MoroccoLatestNews his testimony about ‘an unprecedented situation within the party of the lamp.
A conflict of interest behind massive resignations
The president of the municipal council of Abda explains that “the organizational problem is one of the factors at the origin of this resignation”. “This party is known for its rigor and the strict application of organizational standards and rules that define rights and obligations, is experiencing organizational dysfunction. In other words, all the laws he has put to his credit have no value for most of the members, ”says Abdeljalil Labdaoui.
On the reasons for his decision, Labdaoui confided to MoroccoLatestNews that “the intellectual deviation which occurred in the party locally as well as the deviation from the methodological rigor in which the party to evolve” led him to put the key under the door. Especially, he says, “after the values of respect have disappeared giving way to immoral behavior”.
On the other hand, an official source within the PJD of Safi explained that “Abdeljalil Labdaoui and his entourage protest against the change made by the central leadership of the party at the level of the electoral lists by the designation of the president of the Communal Council as head of the list of regional elections instead of 3rd on the list which will contest the legislative elections ”.
In a statement, the section of the PJD in Safi underlined “that this decision was taken in accordance with the procedures of candidacy and recommendation in force within the party”.
The largest party in Morocco until further notice, is thus experiencing an unprecedented situation in its history. Those of a party which has learned to grow easily and which faces organizational dysfunctions for the first time since it began to manage public affairs. Will the PJD get away with it?
