The economic balances achieved by Morocco in 2022 open up positive prospects for it in its relations with the line of credit from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This is the observation delivered by the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, during the joint press briefing with the government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, at the end of the Council of Government, meeting this Thursday.

Lekjaa explained in this regard that “despite all the problems and fluctuations on the international scene, the financial situation of our country offers, in 2022, the conditions to meet all emergency expenses”.

“We have been able to maintain economic balances and foreign exchange reserves in our country and this opens up positive prospects for us in our relations with the IMF credit line,” he said.

The government has taken a series of measures to keep inflation at levels below 6%, “which has been largely successful”, the Minister Delegate further indicated, noting a “downward trend” at the time. current.

“According to the assumptions established by the ministry, Morocco will achieve a growth rate of 1.5%”, he said, attributing this to the improvement recorded in the tourism sector and the hopes based on the campaign. agricultural sector which presents itself under good auspices.

Ticket scandal: Zero tolerance!

On another aspect, the Minister Delegate assured that firm decisions will be taken against anyone involved in the case of the distribution of Qatar 2022 World Cup tickets to Moroccan supporters.

In his capacity as president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjâa affirmed that “firm and categorical decisions will be taken at the next meeting of the FRMF Steering Committee, scheduled for January 16”.

“Public opinion will be informed in a clear and transparent manner of all these decisions,” he said, noting that “the appropriate and necessary sanction” will be applied against anyone who has acted against the interests of supporters. Moroccans.

CHAN…Waiting for the response from CAF

The FRMF president also stressed that a decision will be taken on the participation (or not) of the Moroccan national team in the African Nations Football Championship (CHAN), scheduled in Algeria between January 13 and on February 4, 2023, “based on the response of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to the request of the Federation”.

In this regard, he recalled that the specifications related to the organization of continental and international sporting events stipulate that the host country must fully facilitate the arrival and participation of the selections taking part in the competition.

Lekjaa, in this sense, referred to the unanimous decision of the Office of the Management of the Federation as to the participation of local players, and which will only take place if the national team goes to Constantine via a direct flight from Rabat.

Contrary to what had been relayed during the last 24 hours, he made a point of specifying, “the organizing country was not asked to plan a special flight for the national team, but rather to authorize Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the official carrier of the national selections, to land on January 10 at around 2:45 a.m. at Constantine airport, which will host the matches of the national selection.
