IDF Chief of Staff next week in Morocco

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army (Tsahal), Aviv Kochavi, is due to begin a 3-day official visit to Morocco on Monday, the first of an Israeli military leader of this rank in the Kingdom.

Several Israeli media, and Arabs in general, had mentioned the visit, but confirmation came from the generally well-informed journalist Barak Ravid, who said on Twitter that this important trip should help strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.

It should be noted that the trip of the Tsahal Chief of Staff comes the day after the announcement of the uninterrupted reopening, thanks to Moroccan mediation, of the Allenby/King Hussein border post, linking the West Bank and Jordan.
