The Organization of the Islamic World for Education, Science and Culture (ICESCO) will organize, on March 23 at its headquarters in Rabat, an international celebration by videoconference on the occasion of World Poetry Day, under the theme “Poets, wings of peace”, an expression of the importance she gives to poetry as a universal language.
Organized in cooperation with the Academy of Arab Poetry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this major event will see high-level international participation from institutions interested in poetry, as well as eminent poets and specialists in poetry. the subject, in order to debate and exchange around poetic institutions and feminine and world poetry, says ICESCO in a press release. On the menu for the opening session of this event, specifies the same source, an address by the guest of honor, Mohamed Benaïssa, president of the Asilah International Festival, and another from the Academy of Arab Poetry, as well as a poetic recitation by the Director General of ICESCO, Salem Ben Mohamed Al-Malik, and another by the poet Mohammed Achaari, winner of the 2020 Argana International Poetry Prize. The three sessions on the program of this international event will be marked by the presence of several poets and artists representing in particular Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Oman and Mauritania.
