Huawei Morocco and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University strengthen their cooperation in technological and digital fields

Huawei Morocco and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, aware of the strategic importance of consolidating training in information and communication technologies (ICT), recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU ) as part of the “Huawei ICT Academy” program at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tangier.

This strategic partnership aims to enable the two entities to design and develop joint projects, but also to strengthen their collaboration in the technological and digital fields, indicates a joint press release from Huawei Morocco, Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and the Ministry of Education. higher education, scientific research and innovation.

The signing of this MoU comes on the sidelines of activities related to the regional meeting organized by Abdelmalek Essaâdi University as part of the National Plan for Accelerating the Transformation of the Higher Education Ecosystem, Scientific Research and of Innovation (ESRI 2030 PACT), chaired by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, underlines the same source. This fruitful partnership, born from the convergence of the visions of the two partners, emphasizes the importance of the development of ICT skills, the encouragement of excellence in the service of quality education in Morocco and the consolidation, in fine, of the public-private partnership, considered as a real lever for the promotion of education and employment.

“We are proud of the scope of the agreement that we have just initialed with Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and which will lay the groundwork for an innovative partnership in the technological and digital fields, with a view to facilitating student access to the market. work and to develop training and certification programs open to students, teachers and administrative and technical executives,” said Mr. Faustin Xu, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Morocco, quoted in the press release.

For his part, Bouchta El Moumni, President of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, said: “We are more than ever aware of the strategic importance of the integration of digital technologies in the academic and scientific field, which is why We are delighted with the signing of this MoU with Huawei, which reinforces our policy of strengthening and diversifying our cooperation and partnership programs, particularly with private sector players”.

As a reminder, Huawei ICT Academy was launched in Morocco thanks to a strategic partnership between Huawei Morocco and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation with the aim of providing students with skills in ICTs and thus promote their integration into the labor market. Thus, 54 universities in Morocco are partners of the Huawei ICT Academy program. No less than 5,000 students have been trained by the Huawei ICT Academy and more than 1,700 have been certified.

The transfer of ICT skills and the training of Moroccan digital talents are materialized through various programs, such as “Seeds for the future”, “Huawei ICT Academy”, Huawei ICT tours for universities and the Huawei ICT Competition.

Concerning the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, it is deployed on five major geographical sites (Tangier, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Larache and Kssar Lakbir), with a projection to deploy on Chefchaoune and Ouezzane. Created in 1989, this university aims to be a citizen and inclusive, bringing innovation and being able to interact with its local, regional, national and international environment.
