Hooliganism in Oujda: The police headquarters denies any death among supporters

The Oujda Police Headquarters categorically denied, on Thursday, the false allegations of the death of a supporter during acts of hooliganism that marked Wednesday’s meeting between Wydad Casablanca (WAC) and Mouloudiya Oujda (MCO), and which resulted in the coronation of Casablancais.

The security operations carried out by the national security services on the sidelines of this match led to the arrest of 39 people, 21 of whom were apprehended for involvement in stone-throwing and acts of violence, while the others were arrested after having been caught in the act of criminal acts ranging from possession of knives, possession and consumption of narcotics and psychotropic substances, to the falsification of entry tickets to the stadium, the Prefecture said.

With regard to the losses and injuries recorded at the level of persons and property, the same source specifies that 69 police officers were injured, including one seriously.

Those arrested were placed in police custody for adults, and under surveillance for minors, as part of the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to identify and arrest the perpetrators of these criminal acts.
