At the end of the session of the Municipal Council of Rabat, adjourned to Friday, September 24 for the election of the mayor of the capital, the deputy Rniste, Asmaa Rhlalou won with 58 votes out of 81, thus becoming the first woman mayor of the capital of the Kingdom.
Thus, three candidates were presented to the mayor of Rabat namely Asmaa Rhlalou (RNI), Hassan Lachgar (USFP) and Badia Bennani (PJD). After tensions that marked the ordinary session which was to be held on Monday, September 20, the meeting was postponed to Friday giving Asmaa Rhlalou winner with 58 votes followed by Hassan Lachgar, 7 votes, and Badia Bennani 6 votes, while 6 advisers abstained from voting.
Thus coming to the composition of the office of the Communal Council of Rabat. The alliance between the RNI, the PAM and the PI, winner of the elections of September 8, allowed its three parties to separate most of the communal councils, especially that of Rabat. In the capital, the MP joined the coalition.
As is customary, 10 vice-presidents were appointed during the election of the office of the Communal Council of Rabat with the president of the council, Asmaa Rhlalou.
The first vice-president designated is Aziz Loumini (PAM), 2nd vice president Abdesslam Bekkari (PI), 3rd vice president Kamal Omrani (RNI), 4th vice president Bachir Taki (PAM), 5th vice president Khalid Moujaouir (PI), 6th Vice President Amine Sadek (RNI), 7th Vice President Laila Belghi (PAM), 8th Vice President Amina Sbaii (PI), 9th Vice President Hassan Tato (MP), 10th Vice President Abdelhak Moujahid (MP).
In addition, Fatiha Moudni (RNI) was appointed secretary of the council with deputy secretary Fatima Akima of the MP.
