The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), shone the spotlight on Tuesday, March 1 on the best eleven in the history of the Moroccan selection. Only one player still in office is there.
IFFHS has chosen eleven of the best Moroccan players to form its all-time “dream team” of the Atlas Lions.
According to the organization of historical and statistical studies on football, which opted for a 4-4-2, it would be Ezzaki Badou, Achraf Hakimi, Medhi Benatia, Noureddine Naybet, Abdelkrim El Hadrioui, Mustapha Hadji, Abdelmajid Dolmy, Abdelaziz Bouderbala, Mohamed Timoumi, Larbi Benbarek and Ahmed Faras.
The only player chosen who is still playing in the selection is Achraf Hakimi, chosen alongside the former captain of the Atlas Lions and ex-Moroccan international, Medhi Benatia.
This is not the first time that the Paris Saint-Germain player has been chosen by the prestigious organization. The versatile full-back is in Africa’s typical team for 2021, and in the eleven-world type of that same year.
Moroccan legends Larbi Benbarek, Mohamed Timoumi, Ahmed Faras and Abdelmajid Dolmy are also in the chosen squad, as is Vahid Halilhodzic’s assistant Mustapha Hadji and the man who is considered one of the best African goalkeepers in all the time, Badou Zaki.
