“Haut et Fort” by Nabil Ayouch acclaimed at the Arte Mare 2021 festival

The curtain fell on Saturday evening in Bastia, Corsica, on the 2021 edition of the Arte Mare festival, where the feature film “Haut et Fort”, by director and screenwriter Nabil Ayouch, received a real plebiscite.

Hat et fort thus won the Grand Prix d’Arte Mare, but also the Pierre Mari RCFM Cinema Prize – Original Music and Soundtrack and the Young Passcultura Jury Prize.

The MGEN Audience Award went to “Gaza Mon Amour” by Tarzan and Arab Nasser.

Produced in 2021, by Ali’n Productions (Morocco), Les Films du Nouveau Monde (France), in co-production with Unity and Ad Vitam (France), “Haut et fort” (102 minutes) tells the story of Anas, former rapper engaged in the cultural center of a popular district of the city of Casablanca.

Encouraged by their new teacher, the young people of the center will try to free themselves from the weight of certain traditions to live their passion and express themselves through hip-hop culture.

The feature film represented Morocco this year at the official competition of the 74th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. He received the Festival’s Positive Cinema Prize.

Nabil Ayouch also received the Best Achievement in Cinema award, recognition for his entire career, which was awarded to him by the humanitarian organization Union-Life International.
