The National Airports Office (ONDA) said that passenger traffic at Hassan 1er airport in Laâyoune, showed during the first two months of 2021, a decline of 36.07% compared to the same period of 2020.
According to data from the Office, the number of passengers passing through this airport platform reached 30,022 at the end of February, against 46,964 travelers during the same period of 2020.
In February alone, some 14,432 travelers used Laayoune airport, compared to 22,237 passengers during the same period of the previous year, a decrease of 35.10%.
ONDA also underlines that the airport has taken 3.43% of the volume of traffic recorded in November at the national level, thus placing itself in 8th place at the national level.
The Kingdom’s airports recorded in February 2021 a volume of commercial passenger traffic of 420,384 travelers, against 1,952,145 received in February 2020, a decrease of around 78.47% compared to the same period of the year. 2020.
This decline is explained by the repercussions of the health crisis linked to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on air traffic.
