Happy in Marrakech, Samy Naceri tells about his collaboration with Hicham Hajji

Samy Naceri feels at home in Marrakech. In an interview with Arabnews, the Franco-Moroccan actor, who has been staying in the ocher city for a few months, recounts his collaboration with Hicham Hajji and praises the reception of the Moroccan people.

Samy Naceri continues collaborations in Morocco. After having played in Hicham Hajji’s film, “Redemption Day”, the Franco-Algerian actor is on the bill for Atoman, the first Moroccan superhero film. An exciting project for the Taxi star.

“The film was special because there are a lot of special effects. It was complicated without being complicated, because when you’ve been in this profession for a long time, you imagine the scenes that will be edited in 3D. This is the first time that I have played a character with such powers. I have already interpreted the role of the villain, but in other registers, with weapons ”, did he declare.

Nacery also spoke of his role in Hicham Hajji’s film “Redemption Day”, the first Moroccan film in which he played and claims to have been convinced by the Moroccan director.

“I was put in contact with Hicham while he was looking for his ‘terrorist leader’, we spoke on the phone and we hooked up. I went to Los Angeles, he was there too. We stayed for a month in his Californian house. You imagine, cohabiting with your future director; it created links. We had a great feeling. Once in Morocco, he contacted me again to ask if I was ready. I left France towards Ouarzazate to shoot. As in the film there were passages in English, he put a coach at my disposal, to be as accurate as possible with my English. The film was also in Arabic ”, he explained.

Despite the end of the shooting of the two Moroccan productions, Naceri has chosen to stay in Morocco, a country he seems to love, well received by his people.

“At the moment, I am in Marrakech and the situation does not necessarily make you want to return to France. And then, getting up in Marrakech or Casablanca with the sun is priceless… The Moroccan people are welcoming, I feel good here, the weather is fine, it’s pleasant. With social networks and all current technologies, it is easier to work remotely ”, he says.
