Haaland back from injury against Southampton

Manchester City’s Norwegian international striker Erling Haaland, who has been out for the past two weeks with injury, is “ready” for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Southampton.

In statements on Friday, his coach, Pep Guardiola, said Haaland has had good training over the past two days and will be ready.

Guardiola, who spoke about Saturday’s meeting on behalf of the 30th day of the championship, also said that “Bayern, opponents of the quarter-finals of the Champions League, is the last of the concerns” of the Citizens who remain “focused on the fight for the title”.

At the time of the home stretch in the Premier League, ManCity is indeed eight points behind leaders Arsenal.

As a reminder, Haaland, author of 44 goals this season, had left the rally of his selection on March 21 due to persistent pain in the groin. He had therefore missed the qualifying matches for Euro-2024 against Spain and Georgia, then the championship match against Liverpool on April 1.
