The Unified Regional Investment Commission of Guelmim Oued-Noun handled in 2020 a total of 24 investment cases worth 1.5 billion dirhams (MMDH) which contributed to the creation of 939 jobs.
These figures were presented by the director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI), Mourad Kayna, during the third meeting of the administrative council of the center, which was held on Tuesday in Guelmim under the chairmanship of the wali of the region of Guelmim. -Oued Noun, Mohamed Najem Abhay.
Mourad Kayna explained that the unified regional investment commission held in 2020 about twenty meetings devoted to the study of investment project files in several areas, including wind energy, the cement industry, industries. food products relating to the promotion of marine products, the manufacture of shoes, tourism and the study of the impact on the environment.
He specified that the year 2020 was also marked by a reduction in the processing times for investment files to 28 days on average, against 100 days in the past, as well as the delivery of 10 administrative authorizations by the Commission, in plus the assistance of 26 companies in the context of administrative procedures.
For his part, the wali indicated that the delicate situation that Morocco and the world are going through due to coronavirus requires more mobilization of stakeholders in order to limit the negative effects of the pandemic on the socio-economic situation and relaunch the economy of the region.
Mohamed Najem Abhay deemed it essential to promote the attractiveness of Guelmim-Oued Noun and encourage investment and job creation, stressing that this meeting is also an opportunity to highlight investment opportunities and economic assets and peculiarities of development that characterize the region.
He also recalled the efforts made with various partners and public institutions to face the difficulties that hamper investments in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun.
