Morocco’s economic growth should stand at 3.4% in 2023-2024, forecasts the African Development Bank (AfDB).
“In North Africa, growth is expected to increase from 4.1% in 2022 to 4.6% in 2023, driven mainly by the economic recovery in Morocco which will record growth of 3.4% in 2023-2024”notes the report of the African Economic Outlook 2023, published by the AfDB, on the sidelines of the 58th annual meetings of the Bank, organized in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The AfDB also forecasts inflation of 4.5% on average during the same period (2023/2024), estimating that the current account deficit should reach 4.2%.
In Africa, economic growth is expected to rebound to 4% in 2023 and consolidate to 4.3% in 2024, the report said.
These 58th Assemblies are marked by meetings of the Governors of the AfDB Group to reflect on ways to mobilize more robustly the private investment that Africa needs to achieve its urgent objectives in terms of adaptation to climate change and mitigation. of its effects.
