‘Gladiator 2′ to resume production after writers’ strike end

Paramount’s Gladiator 2 is set to resume production in Europe after its production was put on hold because of the Hollywood writers’ 118-day strike, which has now concluded.

Deadline media has learned that the following films are scheduled to return to production this week or very soon: Paramount’s “Gladiator 2” in Europe; Warner Bros.’ Tim Burton-directed “Beetlejuice 2” (which has just two days left); Clint Eastwood’s Juror No. 2 (which has about a dozen days left); and Sony’s “Venom 3.” “Deadpool 3” stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and is directed by Shawn Levy.

Rumored to resume production very soon is Wayfarer Studios’ co-financed Sony adaptation of “It Ends With Us,” the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

After several behind-the-scenes photos leaked, fans attacked the film harshly, citing bad costume design and casting choices that had little to do with the novel.
