German Women’s National Team Struggles to Return Home After Early World Cup Exit

The German women’s national football team is struggling to return home after an early exit from the World Cup. The team was eliminated in the group stage after drawing with South Korea, and the German Football Association (DFB) did not plan for a quick return home.

The DFB did not book a flight back to Germany, even though it was possible that the team would be eliminated early. The team spent Thursday night in a hotel in Brisbane, Australia, and will return to their base camp, which is located 100 kilometers north of Sydney, on Friday.

However, German newspapers have reported that all flights from Australia to Germany are fully booked, making it almost impossible for the entire team to return home on one flight. The website Sport1 reported that the players will be returning in groups on Saturday morning and evening, on several flights.
