Four Moroccan referees selected by CAF

Four Moroccan referees have been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U23), scheduled for June 24 to July 8, 2023 in Morocco.

According to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), published on its website, the four Moroccan referees selected by CAF are Jalal Jayed as main referee, Hamza Naciri and Abdessamad Abertoun as assistant referees, in addition to Adil Zourak who will officiate at the VAR.

CAF has also retained Mohamed Kezzaz as a technical trainer and Yahya Hadka as a member of the arbitration committee in charge of evaluating the referees of the competition, adds the same source.

The draw for the U23-2023 Africa Cup of Nations placed Morocco alongside Congo, Ghana and Guinea in Group A. Group B is made up of Egypt, Mali, Gabon and from Niger.
