The Moroccan national team won four gold and two silver medals in the African Boxing Championships, held in the Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé, from July 25 to August 6.
Widad Bartal gave Morocco its first gold medal in the 54Kg category, after beating Algeria’s Fatima-Zohra Abdelkader, before world champion Khadija El Mardi (81Kg) claimed the second precious metal.
In the 51Kg category, Rabab Cheddar took silver, as did her compatriot Oumaïma Bel Ahbib (66Kg).
In the men’s category, Imad Azzouzi (54kg) took the top step of the podium. Later in the day, Mohamed Rabii unsurprisingly won gold in the 75kg class.
